“When you’re doing family law you’re helping people,” she said. “Even though there’s nothing that will really help make someone feel better in those situations, it’s what can I do to help ease this burden for them.”

She aims to help clients understand the judicial process and guide them through it.

“My job is to try to make the process as easy as possible. It’s important that they understand what the process is because it can be difficult,” Swetcky Lang said.

Being in family law gives her an opportunity to help people and be a part of their lives, helping to guide them through a complex process.

“I feel it’s important to be able to help those people and be there for them in the best way that I can, to guide them through that process,” she said.

Making a Difference

Swetcky Lang has been in law for a decade and started her own practice three years ago. Being a family law attorney is rewarding but comes with its own challenges.

“I don’t practice the easy types of law,” Swetcky Lang said. “If I can help clients even a little bit, that means the most to me. I really want to ease their burden because it is a really difficult situation.”

She knows that clients who reach out to her have reached a point of needing her help, and she wants to make the process easier for everyone. She helps them understand the different laws and different courts, and provide them with all of their options which can vary from case to case.
